Dragon Fire - Custom

A custom build for the first Dunham Guitars Artist - Casey Smith. This single cutaway features a multi-color fire and smoke motif body burst on a flame maple carve top, backed by an exotic black limba body. A Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe Tremola tailpiece adds a vintage styling while the locking roller bridge, Tusq graphite-lubricated nut, and GraphTech RATIO locking tuners provide excellent string movement and tuning stability. The hand-wound Vig Custom PAF-style humbucker set is framed by custom curly walnut pickup mounts which match the one-piece neck. Finally, the pau ferro fingerboard sports jumbo stainless steel frets and a dramatic mixed-media inlay of a fire-breathing dragon.

Hear it in action here from when Casey tried it out the first time!

Redwood Rebirth - Custom

This double-cutaway electric guitar is a custom build for a client who lives among majestic coastal redwood trees, with recent close calls in wildfire events. While also devastating, forest fires are a natural part of rebirth for redwood trees, enabling the large cones to release their seeds into fertile ground. The body and headstock of this guitar are made from a lake-salvaged curly redwood piece and dyed in a flame and ash motif symbolic of the importance of wildfire in the species’ lifecycle. The solitary redwood silhouette on the 12th fret, made of redwood sawdust, represents the strength and uniqueness of this iconic tree.

The Kraken - Custom

A true beast in every sense of the word, this single-cutaway clocks in at 11 lb, 3 oz thanks to a solid ovangkol body and maple cap providing thunderous sustain. The fretboard inlay draws an image of rough seas from the waving grainlines of the Pau Ferro wood, completed with seabird fret markers and a masted ship under attack from below at the 12th fret. The light aqua burst and abalone-capped knobs fill out the open sea theme while a pair of Seymour Duncan P-Rail pickups with Triple Shot mounting rings provide a wide variety of tone options.
